|
Hi guys,
This is Larry here to tell you about
our live radio performance in Charleston, WV, for WCHS Radio 58...
We arrived in Charleston at 5 pm and
traveled to the studios of WV Broadcasting Corp. home to many radio
stations. Walking in the door we saw our friend DJ Bill Shahan. He
was his normal happy upbeat self and it was good to see him again.
We made sure he had a copy of our new CD as he has always been a big
supporter of the band and plays our stuff on his show sometimes. He
told us where to go (ha ha) and we signed in and went to the green
room. It was green...and comfortable with gold records and awards
on the walls. Then Robert McCullough stopped in from the Local 136
who sponsors the show and we talked about various opportunities for
Union bands to promote their music. This show is a good way to get
your music out to listeners and they are now booking acts for the
weekly show. Contact them if you are interested in appearing...
Then we met Rick and Mike, the hosts
of the show and they explained how we would do the show and what to
expect. At this point we were waiting on Corbin to arrive...he had
played with his band, Common Ground on Thursday night in Lexington,
KY and then drove home and got up Friday morning and worked all day
and then drove to Charleston to play the show with us. He made it
just in time and we were ready to perform at 5:40. He jokingly said
he drove 2 hours to play 2 songs...ha ha ha
It started out with a few technical
difficulties but their engineer was able to fix it in minutes...so
we didn't lose too much air time. We performed Thank You first and
it sounded pretty good. Then Rick and Mike asked us about our
upcoming shows in the area and our new CD. Mike said he wanted to
go with us the next time we go to Australia and we said yes! We
need someone to help us carry all our luggage! So get ready Mike,
there's a lot of luggage and gear!
After the commercial break we came
back and played "Sweet Summer Nights". Both these versions were
acoustic and it was fun to do them that way for a change. We talked
about our upcoming show at Atlantis later that night and Saturday
night for our JagerBlast Party, Mike stopped by and brought some of
his friends. They enjoyed Rockin Out! with us at Atlantis.
All in all we had a great time
meeting everyone at the radio station and seeing some old friends,
too. We want to thank everyone at WV Broadcasting Corp, Mike and
Rick the hosts of the show and the Local 136 and staff for making us
feel welcome. It was a fun opportunity and we appreciate the chance
to play our songs on the show. We have a copy of the performance
and we'll be posting it as a free mp3 on the website this week. So,
check the website in a couple of days and burn your copy. Also,
don't forget to pick up a copy of our new CD
ConvertibleBlondes at our live shows, on our website and
available at CDBaby.com website.
Have a great rest of summer and we'll
see you on the road!
Larry
